Roland Wimmer
Commercial and magazine photographer from Vienna and Upper Austria.
Self-employed since 2009, before that in studios in Linz and Salzburg, including Media Cube and Helge Kirchberger. I photograph for brands, agencies and magazines: campaigns, portraits, architecture and interiors.
Why weddings
Because I love them.
For me, weddings are not a mass business. I photograph only a few a year – each one with my full attention and a lot of joy.
From advertising I bring what makes a good editorial: a feel for light and material, a clean selection of images, retouching that doesn’t look like a filter. Weddings have taught me when it is better to simply stand quietly aside.

I have photographed for many of Austria’s major companies – including Volkswagen, Siemens, SPAR, Rotax and Steffl – and for magazines such as Forbes, Glamour and Die Macher. Plus numerous CEOs, hotels and the opera singer Erwin Schrott.
